What is MY Arts?

This is a platform for creative expression by children, young adults as well as others. We have chosen “My Arts” as the way to spell this as we believe that it is the phonetically most appropriate way to spell it. My Arts may also be spelt as MY Arts, MY Arts.

Why My Arts?

Few things express a child’s imagination and creativity better than art. Spatial Intelligence is one of the nine fundamental human intelligences. Not enough is done in formal education in India to develop this valuable gift through art.
Essential Skills for 21st century children highlight Cultural Literacy as a Foundational Literacy and Creativity as a Core Competency. Art significantly contributes to and enhances both.
Art is a mirror and a stimulus for change in society. India needs its artists. Children gifted with artistic ability have few places to develop their talent and often drop art in high school for courses that take them to jobs.
The qualities of observation, curiosity, scientific thinking and creativity among children will create young minds who are eager to explore science and solve problems.
We decided to do something about this. We created My Arts.

Prizes for My Art contest

Here are the prizes for the art competition by My Art  which includes a painting contest and a drawing competition. My Art contest is open for all age groups – children, college students, adults as well as senior citizens.

Medals

Gold Medal

One or more gold medals may be awarded each quarter from among the entries received during the quarter for My Art painting contest. Each gold medal winner will receive a certificate from My Art .

Silver Medal

One or more silver medals may be awarded each quarter from among the entries received during the quarter for My Art painting contest. Each silver medal winner will receive a certificate from My Art .

Bronze Medal

One or more bronze medals may be awarded each quarter from among the entries received during the quarter for My Art painting contest. Each bronze medal winner will receive a certificate from My Art .

Honorable Mention

Artworks which did not win any medal but merit a special mention as an artwork of high quality, will receive a Certificate of Honorable Mention.

Other Prizes

In addition to the certificates and medals, other prizes will be awarded based on the support made available by individuals and organization’s towards sponsoring such prizes.

Certificates for shortlisted entries

All shortlisted artworks will be awarded a certificate of shortlisting.

Dispatch of medals and certificates

The medals and certificates will be dispatched by registered post or speed post to the address provided by the participant. It is therefore important to provide a complete and correct address including the PIN to ensure safe and timely delivery.

Art Contest Highlights

My Arts international online art contest is a unique drawing, painting and art competition designed to encourage creative expression. While the art contest started in 2023 for children and young adults, we are now extending it to all age groups.

• Artwork sizes : A5 / A4 / A3 / postcard
• You can submit a maximum of 5 artworks.
• Certificate of Participation will be generated online for each participant. All participants are requested to download their certificate.
• Prizes include medals ( gold, silver, bronze) and certificates for medal winners, honorable mentions and shortlisted.

Benefits of being shortlisted

• Shortlisted artworks will undergo a second round of judging to decide Medals (Gold, Silver, Bronze) and Honorable Mentions.
• Certificates for Shortlisted, Honorable Mentions and Medal Winners will carry the image of the artwork.
• We create a dedicated web page for you. You can keep adding your new artworks to your dedicated web page for a period of 5 years.
• Your artworks will be promoted and put out for sale on My Arts portal.
• We encourage all shortlisted artists to talk about their art. These audios will be shared on our SoundCloud & Digital Media account.

Terms and conditions for My Arts online art contest

• “My Arts“, is a registered which is owned by Link Seeta Ram Environmentals Trust. (hereafter referred to as “My Arts”)
• The participants of My Arts international online art contest are expected to create their own original artwork and submit the image of the artwork to the contest. The submitted image should not be a copy of another artwork. My Arts encourages creative expression and originality of ideas. We discourage any kind of copy. If at any stage, it is revealed that the entry submitted is a copy of an existing artwork, the copied entry will not be considered for further evaluation. If we come to know about a copied artwork at a later stage, we reserve the right to cancel any award or recognition that such an artwork may have received.
• We sincerely request all parents to allow the children to do their artwork on their own and not assist the children in any way in creating the artworks for submitting to My Arts international online art contest.
• The jury of My Arts international online art contest will take care of shortlisting and final evaluation of the artworks. The decision of the jury will be final and no queries or representations regarding the art contest result will be entertained.
• All original shortlisted artworks will be required to be sent to My Arts by the respective participant after receiving intimation of being shortlisted. These artworks will be retained by My Arts and will become the property of My Arts. My Arts will use these artworks for the purpose of exhibitions, promotions, training, research, merchandising and for any other purpose as may be required from time to time. No payment will be made for any shortlisted artwork that is sent to My Arts. My Arts will promote all shortlisted artworks on its social media pages and also create and manage a dedicated web page for each shortlisted participant who sends the original artwork.
• My Arts will create a dedicated web page for each shortlisted artist and this web page will be managed for a period of 3 years.
• Shortlisted artworks will be promoted and put out for sale on My Arts. My Arts will inform the details of this arrangement to all the shortlisted artists. Artworks received from other countries other than India will not be put out for sale.
• Each shortlisted participant will be expected to send an audio recording in his/her own voice describing the artwork. We are looking for original thoughts by the creator in this audio and not a text written by somebody else.
• Every participant to the art contest will be eligible to receive a Certificate of Participation. The digital copy of this certificate can be downloaded from our website.
• The medals will be sent to the participant’s address by courier. Participants are requested to fill in their full postal address (with landmark, if any) while participating in the contest.
• The medals will not be sent to the participants who are not from India. Certificates with mention of a medal will be sent to these participants who are not from India.
• Digital Certificates for Shortlisted, Honorable Mentions and Medal Winners will be sent by mail.
• Participants should write their full and correct name in the contest form, as this name will appear in all certificates.

My Arts conducts international online art contests for children, young adults and others on a regular basis. There is a wide choice of themes to choose from. Apart from the themes listed, participants are free to draw or paint on any theme of their choice.

1. Landscape and Nature – theme for painting competition :- The theme of Landscape and Nature is an important theme for My Arts international free online painting competition for children, young adults and other age groups. Landscape painting, also known as landscape art, is the depiction of natural scenery such as mountains, valleys, trees, rivers, and forests. Sky is generally part of the composition of most paintings. Similarly weather is often an element of the composition. Landscape art may depict real views or these could be imaginary.
2. Cityscape – theme for painting competition:- Cityscape is a theme for My Arts international free online drawing and painting competition for children, young adults and other age groups. Cityscape is an artistic impression such as a painting, drawing, print or photograph of a city or urban space. It can be said that it is the urban landscape. A townscape is similar and the only difference would be due to the difference in the character of a city and town due to its expanse and size of the population.
3. Seascape theme for art competition :-The theme of Seascape is one of the themes for My Arts  international free online art competition for children, young adults and other age groups. A seascape is a work of art which depicts the sea. The word has its origins in landscape, which was used to describe images of land in artworks. Popularly, the term “seascape” is used to describe views of the sea as well as places which offer a good view of the sea. The term is also used for coastline and coastal landscapes.
4. Water and rivers – theme for painting competition :- Water and rivers is a theme for My Arts international free painting competition for children, young adults and other age groups.
5. Art contest theme – Environment & Forests :- The theme of Environment & forests is a prominent theme for My Arts international free online art competition for children, young adults and other age groups. We live in an era where climate change and global warming have become real issues. These are no longer limited to academic discussions and intellectual debates. In fact, we are witness to the effects of climate change and global warming. It is therefore important that children and young adults get sensitized to these issues from a very young age. It was with this thought that we decided to announce the theme “Environment & Forests” as a theme for My Arts international free online art contest.
6. Flowers theme for painting competition :- Flowers is a theme for My Arts international free online painting competition for children, young adults and other age groups. Flowers are loved by all, across geographies and age groups. It is therefore no wonder that flowers have been a popular subject for painting by all kinds of artists. It is said that flowers represent one of the finest creations of nature. Artists for centuries have painted flowers of all kinds using all possible mediums.
7. Mountain theme for painting competition :- Mountain is a theme for My Arts international free online art competition for children, young adults and other age groups. Mountains have lured explorers, travelers, trekkers, pilgrims and tourists for thousands of years. Each one of them gets attracted to the mountains for a different reason and the pull is compelling. Mountains have also been considered as the abode for Gods and hence have spiritual and religious importance in many faiths. The sheer beauty of the mountains is something to experience in real life. Mountaineers risk everything in their attempt to summit mountain peaks. It is therefore a challenge to the artists to paint the mountains and mountain views in their many different hues and colors. Painting snow-clad mountains throws additional challenges to an artist and many artists willingly take up that challenge.

What kind of artwork can be submitted to this art contest?

What are the different age groups ?

My Arts is an international online art contest. It is open 24 x 7.

There are five age groups :

• Kids : 1 to 5 years
• Children : 5 to 15 years
• Young Adults : 15 to 30 years
• Adults : 30 to 60 years
• Senior Citizens : 60 years & above

What is the size of the artwork ?

Your artwork needs to be in one of the following four sizes :

• Postcard
• A5 (14.81 x 21.01 centimeters or 5.8 x 8.3 inches)
• A4 (21 x 29.7 centimeters or 8.27 x 11.69 inches)
• A3 (29.7 x 42 cm, 11.69 x 16.53 inches)

Which medium can be used for the paintings or drawing ?

You can use any medium of your choice.

There is no restriction on the use of medium. It could be regular pencils, colored pencils, graphite pencils, charcoal, crayons, sketch pens, oil pastels, watercoolers, acrylic colors, oil colors. The drawing, sketch or painting can be done on any paper – it could be the regular office stationery paper or drawing paper or any other surface suitable for drawing or painting.

You can also use a canvas. If you use a canvas, please ensure that you leave a margin of 2 inches on all sides for stretching. You can submit digital art as well.

How to submit your entry to the My Arts contest ?

The submission is online. This means that you will submit a scanned image or a good quality picture of your artwork along with all the relevant details such as title of the artwork, medium used, size and a brief description about the artwork.

Please do not send your original artworks to us, unless we ask for it.

How many entries can I submit to this competition ?

Each participant can submit a maximum of 5 entries at a time. These entries can be across multiple themes as you wish. You have the total freedom.

What happens after I submit my entries ?

My Arts contest works on a quarterly cycle. Every quarter, the jury of this competition draws a shortlist from each group. The shortlist is published on our website as well as in our blog and social media pages.
